Literacy and numeracy tests
RoSA literacy and numeracy tests
If you plan to leave school before completing your HSC, you have the choice of taking literacy and numeracy tests. The results may be useful at job interviews or for training providers as evidence of literacy and numeracy skills.
In 2013 there will be two opportunities for you to sit for the tests:
• 23-29 May
• Term 4 (exact dates to be advised).
You will only be able to sit for the tests once during each of the above windows.
The tests will be offered online and will be taken at your school under the supervision of a teacher.
Each test will consist of multiple-choice questions and will be 60 minutes long. Students will be required to sit both tests in one sitting.
These are not pass/fail tests - they will be designed to show levels of achievement that are reasonable to expect from students leaving school before completing their HSC.
The literacy and numeracy test results are reported separately from the RoSA credential. You will be sent your literacy and numeracy test results to your home address. You can also generate an eRecord (a PDF summary of these results) in your Students Online account, which you can save and print.
The tests will be offered in schools during a number of ‘windows' each year. You will only be able to sit for the tests once during each window but, if you later decide to stay at school longer, you will be able to take the tests again.
Please talk to your teacher if you are leaving school and are interested in doing the tests, as they will need to enroll you.
