HSC showcase nominations 2012
Nomination letters for HSC showcases have started going out to schools.
School staff, parents and students are reminded that nomination for an HSC showcase does not indicate a particular mark for the student’s major work or performance.
There are many factors involved in final selection for a showcase event or exhibition, such as:
- ability to transport a major project;
- suitability of a performance for a particular kind of stage;
- need to show a mix of performances or projects that demonstrate the scope of the relevant syllabus;
- inclusion of students from locations around NSW.
Inevitably, there are many outstanding students who are not nominated or, having been nominated, are not selected for the final showcase.
OnSTAGE, ENCORE and Callback students will be advised of their nomination prior to the written exams to allow copyright clearance to begin as early as possible.
OnSTAGE: Letters were sent to nominated performers via their school on 7 September. Nominated students need to send their forms and performance DVDs by 19 September. Nominated students and their school will be notified of the outcome of the selection process at the conclusion of the written exams.
OnStage will be held at the Seymour Centre from 2-8 February 2013.
ENCORE: Letters will be sent to nominated performers by the end of term.
ENCORE will be held at the Sydney Opera House on 25 February 2013.
Callback: Letters will be sent to nominated students and their schools by the end of term.
Callback will be held at the Seymour Centre in February 2013.
Forms and performance DVDs for Encore and Callback must be submitted by Friday, 16 November, one week after the conclusion of written exams to avoid interruption to students' study. Nominated students and their school will be notified of the outcome of the selection process in December.
DesignTECH: Letters will be sent to all nominated students and their schools at the completion of the written exams. Nominated students will be provided with details to log in to the Students Online website to submit an online nomination form and digital images of their project. Nominated students and their school will be notified of the outcome of the selection process mid December.
DesignTech will open at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney in February 2013.
ARTEXPRESS: Nomination letters will be sent to students and schools at the completion of the written exams. Nominated students will be provided with details to log in to the Students Online website to submit an online nomination form. Final selection letters will be sent mid December and non-selected works will be returned to schools.
Artexpress will open in Sydney in February 2013.
Young Writers Showcase: Nominated students will be advised shortly after students receive their HSC results.
Texstyle: Selection letters will be sent to students and schools at the conclusion of the written exams.
Texstyle will be held in Sydney in February 2013.
