Frequently Asked Questions
Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) and personal details
What do I do if I lose my PIN?
Write a letter to the Student Records Unit at the Office of the Board of Studies, stating that you have lost your PIN. Include a photocopy of suitable proof of identity, such as a Proof of Age card or Driver's Licence. A Board Officer will then contact you and provide your PIN.
Can I change my enrolment details on Students Online?
You can't change your enrolment details through Students Online but it's a good idea to check the information to make sure it's correct. Any changes to your enrolment details must be made by your home school. If there is a mistake, let your school know.
Can I change my address or contact details on Students Online?
You can change your home address and contact details through Students Online between November 11 and December 6, 2008. Changes required before these dates or any corrections to your name need to be made by your home school.
If I change my address do I also need to advise the Universities Admission Centre (UAC)?
Yes. If you wish to receive an ATAR you need to advise UAC of your new address.
Can I change my PIN through Students Online?
Yes. There is an option to change your PIN under the My Details menu. You need your student number and original PIN to make the change and your new PIN must still be a four-digit number between 1000 and 9999.
If I get a mail redirection order after moving house do I still need to change my address with the Board of Studies?
Yes. Redirection orders are generally reliable but it is also a very good idea to change your residential address directly with the Board. Use Students Online or ask your school to make the change. If you have applied for an ATAR, you should also notify the Universities Admissions Centre.
